High-performance computer management based on Java

Coupling of distributed computer resources connected by a high speed networ k to one virtual computer is the basic idea of a metacomputer. Access to th e metacomputer should be provided by an intuitive graphical user interface (GUI), ideally world wide web (WWW) based. This paper presents a metacomput er architecture using a Java based GUI.
