Abstract
The ligand 2,6-bis(o-cyanophenylthiomethyl)pyridine reacts with Pt(II) and Pd(II) to produce a complex with rearrangent of the original ligand: a benz othiophene condensation on one arm is obtained in the case of Pt(II) but in the case of Pd(II) the two arms of the ligand have reacted to produce a to tally aromatic system.
