Abstract
X-ray structural analyses reveal that the title complex contains the Fe(Sal en) moieties bridged by single acetate groups in an anti-anti configuration to form linear polymer chains, which is found for the first time in the Fe (Schiff bases)L type of complexes. The shorter axial distance of Fe-O (2.07 7 (2) Angstrom) than that of Mn-O (2.201 (5) Angstrom) to the bridging carb oxylate in the analogous complex of Mn(Salen)(AcO) is explained by Jahn-Tel ler distortions.
