Abstract
In this paper, the transition from a 3-D thermoelasticity problem to a 1-D beam model is made on the basis of a two-scale asymptotic method. A non-hom ogeneous beam of arbitrary periodic structure is considered. (C) 1999 Elsev ier Science Ltd. All rights reserved.
