Ya. Volkov et al., Parametrization of the surface radiative budget on the basis of the CAGEX-1 experiment within the program of atmospheric radiation measurements, IAN FIZ ATM, 35(1), 1999, pp. 66-72
An analysis of the daily variations of all components of radiative budget m
easured under clear sky and cloudy conditions is performed on the basis of
the data of the program of atmospheric radiation measurements (the CERES/AR
M/GEWEX Exercise, CAGEX). These data contain ground-based meteorological in
formation, experimental values of surface radiation fluxes, and fundamental
atmospheric parameters, such as profiles of temperature and humidity and a
lso satellite and lidar estimates of the amount, type, height, and optical
thickness of clouds, The effect of daytime heating of the underlying surfac
e manifesting itself in the asymmetry of the daily variations of radiative
budget is estimated quantitatively. By regression analysis, the daily varia
tions of radiative budget under clear sky conditions and continuous middle-
layer cloudiness is parametrized. As-a result, the surface local cloud-radi
ative forcing under continuous middle-layer cloudiness is estimated for the
CAGEX-1 experiment.
