Abstract
We report the peculiarity of selective reflection from a planar cholesteric liquid crystal layer under the action of a small electric field. Applicati on of a small electric field leads to a reversible transition from monodoma in to multidomain textures that have a different angular distribution of re flected light. The mechanism of such transition is discussed.
