Abstract
The phenomenon of Cherenkov trapping of generalized Swihart waves by a movi ng vortex is established using an analytically solvable model. The quantiza tion of the structure of the field of the trapped waves is manifested as qu antization of the values of the velocity of the vortices. (C) 1999 American Institute of Physics.
