Abstract
The aim of the paper is to characterize the global rate of approximation of
derivatives f((1)) through corresponding derivatives of linear combination
s of Post-Widder operators in an appropriate weighted L-p-metric using a we
ighted Ditzian and Totik modulus of smoothness, and also to characterize de
rivatives of these operators in Besov spaces of Ditzian-Totik type. (C) 199
