Abstract
Computation of the tidal currents in the Strait of Messina induced by the sum of M2, S2, K1, O1 harmonics is performed. The residual tide is defined as the time mean on interval multiple to periods of the tidal components. The comparative influence of physical and morphometric fa ctors on generation and peculiarities of the residual circulation is c larified.
