Abstract
A new type of strongly binding and chiral spherand is reported,which i s composed of a phenanthroline and four alkoxy benzene units incorpora ted in 18-membered rings whose binding free energies and H-1 NMR spect ra suggest the systems to be preorganized for complexation.
