R. Grigg et al., HALOGEN-INDUCED FORMATION OF NITRONES FROM OXIMES AND ALKENES, Journal of the Chemical Society, Chemical Communications, (17), 1993, pp. 1340-1342
Oximes possessing gamma-, delta-, or omega-alkenyl substituents are cy
clised by N-bromosuccinimide or iodine to the corresponding cyclic nit
rones or their dimeric H-bonded hydriodide salts in good yield; facial
ly specific cycloaddition of these nitrones, and others derived by cyc
lisation of a delta,delta-bis(alkenyl) ketoxime or addition of acetald
oxime to cyclohexene, furnish isoxazolidines.
