Abstract
The mode-conversion efficiency (MCE) of guided optical waves with magnetost atic waves (MSWs) generated in inclined magnetized Bi-doped YIG film is cal culated at the first time. Calculation indicates that the MCE can distinctl y be improved under inclined bias magnetic field. The dependence of MCE on the inclined angle theta is nonreciprocal. When the directions of MSW propa gation and magnetic held (\theta\ keeps fixed) are changed at the same time , the MCE does not almost vary. (C) 1999 Elsevier Science B.V. All rights r eserved.
