Abstract
A new group of novel magnetic nano- and microparticles consisting of divers e synthetic and natural matrices such as polyvinylalcohol, polyacrylates an d polysaccharide derivatives as well as starch, pectine and alginates, were synthesized. The application of specially derivatized ionic magnet particl es is described in cell- and drug-targeting experiments, gene transfection studies, and in a novel DNA extraction method.
