Abstract
Applications of magnetic fields in separation science, biotechnology and gr avitational biology as studied in the low-gravity environment of space flig ht are reviewed. Ferromagnetism, ferrimagnetism, paramagnetism and diamagne tism have been applied in studies of collagen gel formation, bacterial grow th and mixing in the free-fall condition of orbital space flight.
