Magnetic solid-phase extraction is a new procedure for the preconcentration
of target analytes from large volumes based on the use of magnetic or magn
etizable adsorbents. In the experiments reactive copper phthalocyanine dye
attached to silanized magnetite, and magnetic charcoal were used as adsorbe
nts and selected organic dyes were used as analytes. Up to 460-fold enrichm
ent of analytes was observed. (C) 1999 Elsevier Science B.V. All rights res
