Abstract
Scattering rates of Auger and electron-phonon processes between discre te Landau levels in a quasi-two-dimensional electron system are calcul ated. Using these rates we provide an understanding of the upconversio n observed in the magneto-luminescence of one-side modulation doped Ga As/AlGaAs quantum wells; in particular, of its dependence on excitatio n power and magnetic field.
