Abstract
Our data provide indirect evidence that PKG may play a key role in esophage
al cancer progression, probably by affecting homotypic cell adhesion, cytos
keletal anchoring and signal transduction. The independent prognostic relev
ance of PKG in esophageal carcinoma patients is of particular interest for
stratification of these patients to adjuvant therapy.
