We here studied the antiedematous effects of a molecule with structural hom
ology to lactobionate and hydroxyethylstarch in a model of isolated perfusi
on of rat livers: polysulfated anionic polysaccharides prevented reperfusio
n edema and LDH release more effectively than lactobionate.
