H. Koto et al., EVALUATION OF FATIGUE-STRENGTH REDUCTION FACTOR OF WELDMENT UNDER ELEVATED-TEMPERATURE CONSIDERING THICKNESS EFFECT, JSME international journal. Series B, fluids and thermal engineering, 36(3), 1993, pp. 471-475
Analytical and experimental studies were conducted on the fatigue stre
ngth reduction factor (FSRF) of the weldments for breeder reactor stru
ctural design, focusing on the relationship between the strain constra
int effect and the ratio of the welded metal breadth to the welded joi
nt wall thickness. As the result, it was found that the FSRF for a 304
SS-308 hot TIG welded joint is expected to be about 1.1 for the wall t
hickness of the Japanese demonstration LMFBR vessel.
