Abstract
It is known that there are materials that are strain-rate and temperature-r ate sensitive (Babcock, S.G., Michaels, T.E., Langan, J.J., Scherloh, F.L., Norvey, D.B., Green, S.J., Characterization of three aluminum alloys, Fina l report to Army Materials and Mechanics Research Center, Watertown, MA, AM MRC CR 71-3, 1971; Chou, S.C., Dandekar, D.P., Green, J.L., Martin, A.G., S wanson, R.A., Frankel, J., Ganguly, J., Lopatin, C., Deformation behavior o f SiC/2014 Al Metal-Matrix composite, Technical Report to Army Materials Te chnology Laboratory, MTL TR 89-42, 1989). Their stress-strain relations dep end on the temperature as well as on how fast the temperature is raised. We propose a constitutive relation that describes the response of this class of materials.
