Quantum analysis is made on the dynamical system consisting of the cosmic a
xions, photons and Rydberg atoms which are interacting in the resonant cavi
ty. The time evolution of the number of excited Rydberg atoms is determined
, which is due to the axion-converted and thermal background photons. Then,
by taking into account the atomic motion in a continuous incident beam, th
e detection efficiency of the Rydberg atom cavity detector for the dark mat
ter axion search is properly estimated.
