Abstract
In the case of collisional broadening considerably exceeding Doppler broade ning, phenomenologically close deformations of the spectral line profile ar e shown to be given by several reasons. Among them are Dicke narrowing due to elastic collisions in any model of scattering, the dependence of the col lisional width on the particle velocity, and the line splitting due to the wind effect.
