A complete set of fundamental optical functions is calculated for the fulle
rite (C-60) single crystal in the range of 1.5-5.0 eV on the basis of the s
pectra known for the real and imaginary parts of the dielectric constant. T
he integrated spectrum of the dielectric constant is expanded in elementary
components. For each component, three basic parameters (the energy of the
peak, the half-width, and the oscillator strength) are determined. A scheme
is proposed which describes the nature of these components on the basis of
the presently available theoretical calculations of the fullerite bands.
