V. Madigou et al., Crystallographic structure of lead hafnate (PbHfO3) from neutron powder diffraction and electron microscopy, PHIL MAG A, 79(4), 1999, pp. 847-858
The structure of lead hafnate has been accurately determined at 10K and at
room temperature by two different diffraction methods: neutron powder and e
lectron diffraction. Results from the two methods are in good agreement. Th
e structure is shown to be isomorphic to the lead zirconate structure, alth
ough its behaviour with temperature is very different from that of lead zip
conate. It is also shown that the centrosymmetric structure is more probabl
e than the noncentrosymmetric one.
