Abstract
Ground state properties of one-dimensional chain of oxygen molecules an stu died by an exact diagonalization procedure for 1D two band Hubbard Hamilton ian. Effects of the transfer energy and the orbital energy difference on th e magnetic properties are studied in detail and it is suggested that peculi ar magnetic properties of oxygen physisorbed in Cu-trans-1,4-cyclohexanedic arboxylic acid may be explained by taking into account the effect of the or bital energy difference.
