Abstract
Velocities of longitudinal and transverse acoustic waves were measured for the first tints in disordered cross-linked layered structures obtained by s tatic thermobaric treatment of C-60 powder at pressures P = 8-11 GPa and te mperatures up to T = 1650 K. Elastic constants are evaluated and compared w ith known data for other superhard and ultrahard fullerites. polycrystallin e and monocrystal diamonds, graphite and pristine C-60.
