Abstract
Antisymmetrical pseudo-Lamb waves were excited on a liquid-loaded CVD (chem ical vapor deposited) diamond film via the laser-induced thermoelastic effe ct and were detected with the laser beam deflection technique. By fitting t he dispersion curve of the waves, we were able to deduce both longitudinal and transversal velocities of the sample. This technique is suitable for th e nondestructive characterization of elastic moduli of thin diamond layers.
