Abstract
Cross-linked materials derived from gamma-zirconium phosphate have bee n synthesized by the intercalation of octakis-(aminopropylsiloxane) fo llowed by calcination. These compounds represent a novel inorganic oxi de pillared gamma-zirconium phosphate, and the origin of their porosit y resides in the structural characteristics of the host material. An a lternative, low temperature, approach to silica pillaring is also desc ribed.
