Abstract
The influence of sulfur content and heat-treatment conditions on the mechan ical properties and failure of 36NKhTYu alloy in dynamic tension is investi gated. It is shown, for three sets of heat-treatment conditions, that incre ase in the sulfur content by an order of magnitude leads to slight decrease in strength and increase in plasticity of the alloy. Comparison with stati c test results indicates that the failure process changes significantly on switching from static to dynamic tension.
