S. Cacchi et al., Carbon-carbon bond forming reactions in supercritical carbon dioxide in the presence of a supported palladium catalyst, SYNLETT, (3), 1999, pp. 345-347
The reaction of aryl iodides or vinyl triflates with a variety of olefins i
n supercritical carbon dioxide (scCO(2)), in the presence of triethylamine
and palladium on carbon, has been investigated. Methyl acrylate, styrene an
d acrylonitrile afford vinylic substitution products. Butenone reacts with
aryl iodides to form a mixture of vinylic substitution and hydroarylation (
formal conjugate addition) products, n-Butyl, vinyl ether gives rise to the
formation of products arising from the alpha- and beta-arylation process.
