CURRENT STATE OF RESEARCH IN CARDIOLOGIC REHABILITATION IN GERMANY

Within a few years a lack of research in cardiologic ''rehabilitation in Germany has changed to a boom in scientific work in that field. The short-term results of inpatient programms, collected in a number of m ulticenter studies, are available today. Long-term outcomes of these p rogramms will be published soon.The main problem in Germany today is n ot the lack of research anymore but the poor reputation of rehabilitat ion in public and the missing acceptance of the published outcomes. In future the problem of preserving short-term rehabilitation benefits i n the long run and economic questions will become more important.
