Abstract
The process of the proton charge exchange on hydrogen atoms is studied spectropolarimetrically. Calculation results show that this process m ay be responsible for the asymmetry in polarization of the H-alpha emi ssion of the solar chromosphere, which was found out in a series of ex periments performed at the Crimean Astrophysical Observatory.
