Abstract
Polarization characteristics of H-alpha radiation of solar chromospher e in the presence of a nonuniform magnetic field are considered. The a bility of such a field to produce ordering of angular moments differen t from that induced by an external source is illustrated, and the degr ee of linear polarization measured by a terrestrial observer is studie d as a function of the location of the emitting volume at the solar su rface and the magnitude of the magnetic field.
