Vg. Bespalov et al., SUPER-REGENERATIVE SRS AMPLIFICATION OF FEMTOSECOND PULSES IN COMPRESSED HYDROGEN, Optics and spectroscopy, 85(2), 1998, pp. 314-321
An experimental study and numerical simulation of the amplification of
femtosecond pulses on the basis of stimulated Raman scattering in com
pressed hydrogen were made. For pumping by 350-fs pulses with energy o
f 100 mu J of the second harmonic of radiation of a titanium-doped sap
phire laser, the small-signal gain for 465-nm Stokes radiation separat
ed out from the spectral continuum reached 10(10). The results of nume
rical calculations quantitatively and qualitatively agree with the exp
erimental results for the pump energies lying below the threshold of s
pectral-continuum generation.
