QUANTITATIVE-ANALYSIS OF THE ORIENTATION OF MACROMOLECULES OF POLYCRYSTALLINE POLYMERS WITH THE HELP OF POLARIZED RAMAN-SPECTROSCOPY

New experimental methods of determination of orientation of macromolec ules in polycrystalline polymers from polarized Raman spectra are prop osed. The conditions of their applicability and the limitations associ ated with the use in actual practice are considered. The feasibility o f employment of the approaches proposed in the paper in micro-Raman sp ectroscopy are discussed. Experimental data on the determination of or ientation of macromolecules in polyethylene are presented. The experim ental results support the applicability of the methods proposed here t o the study of the structure of polycrystalline polymers.
