A study of the influence of gyrotropy on features of electrooptical pr
operties of cubic noncentrosymmetric crystals is reported. The relatio
n between the magnitude of crystal gyrotropy and the optical anisotrop
y induced in a crystal by an electric field is found. Features of fiel
d dependences of the polarization of natural optical modes and their r
efractive indices are considered. It is shown that the gyrotropy cause
s the dependence of induced optical gyrotropy on the electric field in
crystals possessing the linear electrooptical effect.
