B. Godlewskazylkiewicz et al., THE PARAMETERS INFLUENCING THE MAGNESIUM SPECIATION IN ANALYSIS OF BLOOD-SERUM, Magnesium-Bulletin, 20(3), 1998, pp. 65-68
Ultrafiltration as a separation technique, ion-selective electrode pot
entiometry and atomic absorption spectrometry were used for determinat
ion of ionized magnesium in blood serum. The parameters of prinipal im
portance during ultrafiltration process are the temperature and the pa
rtial pressure of carbon dioxide, which should be controlled by satura
tion the sample with gaseous carbon dioxide. The correlation between i
onized total and ultrafiltrable magnesium is still questionable.
