We developed a fast read-out circuitry for an a-Si:H image sensor with
128 columns and 96 rows. Reading out the columns partially parallel,
we achieve an image frequency of up to 120 Hz. Noise has been kept ver
y low, which renders in effect 7 bits of gray shade values. The indivi
dual pixel characteristics are compensated by specifically assigned ga
in and offset values, for which we propose a suitable computation algo
rithm. Results showing the visual performance of the sensor are given.
