While controversy rages over the relationship between science and reli gion, we examine the specific interconnections between Faraday's relig ion and his science, As a Sandemanian Christian, he conceived his role in the scientific community as a natural extension of his religious v alues, Moreover, it is suggested that he understood the physical unive rse as a divinely ordained natural economy; thus, his science was dire cted to ascertaining the way God had created the universe.
