The dielectric behavior of several thermotropic linear and comb-like p
olymers with flexible spacers and mesogenic fragments with different s
tructure has been studied in a frequency range from 60 Hz to 1 MHz in
the bulk state (below the glass transition temperature). Two regions o
f dipole relaxation caused by local mobility were detected. It was sho
wn that the relaxation parameters of the first process virtually do no
t change with increasing spacer length and have similar values in poly
mers with different structure. In the case of the second process, the
increase in spacer length considerably increases the mobility of kinet
ic elements.
