Abstract
We report a patient who received a CPI Ventak AV II DR TCD for ventric ular tachycardia and complete heart block without an escape rhythm. Du ring induced nonsustained ventricular tachycardia, the device, althoug h programmed to deliver noncommitted shocks, acted like a committed de vice. This phenomenon is due to undocumented behavior that is likely t o occur in any patient who is pacemaker dependent and has nonsustained ventricular tachycardia.
