In this paper, the effect of rotation imposed to a horizontal cylinder
containing a fluid is studied. A uniform temperature is imposed on th
e circular boundary of the enclosure while a uniform internal heat sin
k is applied to cool down the system. The resulting convective heat tr
ansfer is studied using both perturbation methods and numerical proced
ures. Only the weak rotation regime, in which the centrifugal force is
negligible compared to gravity, is considered. Results indicate that
the rotation significantly affects the flow and temperature fields, an
