Abstract
A novel secondary metabolite, tigloside (C54H78O27), was detected in t he mycelium of the actinomycete strain Amycolatopsis sp. NNO 21702 by HPLC-diode array screening. The compound was isolated by chromatograph ic methods, and its structure established as -[(E)-2-methyl-2-butenoyl ]-[alpha-D-glucopyranosyl alpha-D-glucopyranoside] by NMR spectroscopi c methods and chemical degradation experiments.
