Abstract
Mutations in the structural gene for adenosine deaminase lead to sever e combined immunodeficiency in humans. Here, Linda F. Thompson and Mic hael R. Blackburn describe new mutant mouse and fetal thymic organ cul ture models which hold great promise for understanding the pathogenesi s of this devastating disease as well as for developing new therapies.
