Abstract
Experiments with dielectric scatterers in a parallel-plate waveguide h ave verified for the first time the existence of proximity resonances in two dimensions. A numerical solution to the scattering problem supp orts the analysis of the experimental data. [S0031-9007(98)07360-8].
