Abstract
The anion of heterocyclic ketene aminals 1 - 4 reacted with 2,4-dinitr ohalobenzenes 5 to give the monoarylated products 6, 7, 9 and 11 by a S(RN)1 mechanism. In some cases, the diarylated products 8 and 10 were also isolated.
