R. Desikan et al., HARPIN AND HYDROGEN-PEROXIDE INDUCE THE EXPRESSION OF A HOMOLOG OF GP91-PHOX IN ARABIDOPSIS-THALIANA SUSPENSION-CULTURES, Journal of Experimental Botany, 49(327), 1998, pp. 1767-1771
Using reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction and degenerate p
rimers based on conserved sequences, a partial cDNA from Arabidopsis t
haliana has been cloned that encodes part of a homologue of gp91-phox
of NADPH oxidase. It is expressed in Arabidopsis shoots, roots and flo
wers and its expression in suspension cultures is up-regulated by elic
itation with harpin or exposure to hydrogen peroxide.
