Abstract
Using reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction and degenerate p rimers based on conserved sequences, a partial cDNA from Arabidopsis t haliana has been cloned that encodes part of a homologue of gp91-phox of NADPH oxidase. It is expressed in Arabidopsis shoots, roots and flo wers and its expression in suspension cultures is up-regulated by elic itation with harpin or exposure to hydrogen peroxide.
