Abstract
Professor Saunders explores the California Constitutional Convention o f 1849 and the constitution that it produced. She reviews the historic al background leading up to the convention and pays particular attenti on to the provisions of the resulting constitution that illustrate the conflict between Angle-American and Spanish-Mexican legal traditions. Ail annotated bibliography of research sources is included.
