During an inventory conducted in French Guiana, 756 ant-gardens (AGs)
were inspected. For eight AGs, in the lower part corresponding to the
dense root complex including the ants' nest, we found a nest of the my
rmecophilous stingless bee Paratrigona pannosa. The concerned AGs, tha
t consist of fairly durable and protected sites, were all inhabited by
one of the two species of Ponerine ants Pachycondyla goeldii and Odont
omachus mayi.
