Abstract
We report a 45-year-old man with fulminant pneumococcal meningitis. Fl uid attenuated inverse ratio MR images showed the ravaging consequence s of occlusive vasculopathy and a transient purulent basal exudate. Bi lateral thalamic lesions may have explained the failure to awaken desp ite appropriate antibiotic therapy.
